    Basic overview
    SCB14-500kVA dry transformer is a new type of high efficiency and energy saving distribution transformer. Among them, "SCB14" indicates that the transformer is a resin-insulated (thin insulation) dry transformer with foil winding, and meets a specific design standard and performance index series, and "500kVA" indicates its rated capacity of 500kVA.
     
    Structural characteristics
    1. Insulation system
    - Using advanced epoxy resin casting technology, the coil is molded as a whole. This casting process gives the coil extremely high mechanical strength and can effectively resist vibration and shock during transportation and installation. At the same time, the epoxy resin material has good electrical insulation performance, and can also ensure reliable insulation effect in harsh environments such as damp and dust, without the need for a special tank to contain insulation oil like an oil-immersed transformer.
     
    2. Coil structure
    - The coil is made of copper foil or copper wire. The copper foil winding method makes the interturn capacitance distribution more uniform, reduces the possibility of partial discharge, and improves the stability of transformer operation. Moreover, the copper has excellent electrical conductivity, which reduces the resistance loss and improves the efficiency of the transformer.
     
    3. Iron core
    - The iron core is usually composed of high quality cold rolled silicon steel sheets. These silicon steel sheets undergo special processing, such as reducing thickness, improving permeability, etc., to reduce the no-load loss of the core. There are reasonable insulation and fixing measures between the iron core and the coil to ensure that there will be no loosening, vibration and other conditions affecting the performance of the transformer during long-term operation.
